CERTIFIED CODE COMPLIANCE FOR WEATHERTEX PRODUCTS

One of Australia’s leading manufacturers of cladding and supplier to Dahlsens, Weathertex, has achieved CodeMark Certification for their popular Selflok weatherboards and Weathergroove vertical groove product ranges.

Australian made using waste hardwood sourced exclusively from certified plantation estates, Weathertex products are 100% natural and come in a range of durable, great looking and easy to install profiles.

What is CodeMark Australia?

The CodeMark Australia Certification Scheme is a voluntary third-party building product certification scheme that independently authorises the use of new and innovative products in specified circumstances that are compliant the National Construction Code (NCC).

CodeMark certification is important for products like Weathertex – which have been on the market for many years – because it provides builders (and their clients) with an assurance that various NCC standards have been met or exceeded. CodeMark certification also provides automatic legislative acceptance by Approving Authorities Australia wide.

As a result, Weathertex now holds a Certificate of Conformity from CodeMark Australia that demonstrates that the complete Selflok weatherboard product range and the Weathergroove architectural panels product range are fully Code compliant, covering:

  • Volume 1 & 2 of the BCA 2019
  • Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10
  • Weatherproofing
  • Structural Reliability
  • Fire:
    • Up to and including BAL 19
    • Type C construction
    • Attachment to FRL walls tested to AS 1530.4:2014

Why Weathertex?

Weathertex has a long and proud history in providing high quality products to the Australian building and construction industry since 1939. Weathertex only uses PEFC certified state forest or private hardwoods from controlled sources. The waste timber logs are chipped, pulped and pressed with 3% natural wax to make Australian eco-friendly, timber products that are completely natural with no chemical additives.

Weathertex have also set new benchmarks for eco-friendly and sustainable products by achieving the coveted GreenTag Platinum Certification for the Natural product range and GreenTag Gold for the pre-primed range of Weathergroove and Selflok profiles – the first manufactured product in the world to achieve the status.
