Builder spotlight: Hudson Ridge

Back to news
Custom builders Hudson Ridge take pride in the creation of top quality contemporary housing. The team’s design and execution skills have been recently recognised with their ‘Everest’ display home awarded Finalist 2018, HIA Western Victoria Display Home.

“As a business we share a focus on producing a high quality final product, so that each of our clients can ‘experience the difference’ of working with us,” says Director at Hudson Ridge, Darren Fraser.

A recent entrant to the market, Hudson Ridge opened its doors in 2018 with a team of 25 employees. Headquartered in Ballarat, the boutique building firm also operates on the Bellarine Peninsula with an office in Torquay.

The company caters to a broad client base including first home buyers, investors, families or those wishing to build that next level property.

Experience the difference

For Darren, the team at Hudson Ridge is its greatest asset. Each team member is committed to building personal relationships with clients and trades. This includes working closely with all stakeholders to understand each individual’s needs, and deliver an architecturally stunning home.

“Everyone on the team comes to work with the same collaborative attitude – we are always searching for innovative products and methods to further enhance the quality of our build and overall customer experience,” says Darren.

“It really is about every link in the chain being strong. On any of our construction sites you may find the GM sweeping up alongside a first-year apprentice.”

A focus on quality

A commitment to innovation, superior service and modern design are backed by the use of cutting-edge products.

“Today’s clients are more informed than ever, with many understanding the building process as well as current trends. In this context, our commitment to quality never goes unnoticed.”

“Our clients regularly provide us with positive feedback, particularly around our standard inclusions which are often referred to as industry leading,” says Darren.

Hudson Ridge offer clients a guaranteed build time, extensive design and build flexibility, a highly personalised service, strong design options and a fixed cost, turn key product.

Strong relationships with suppliers, including Dahlsens and Bradford Energy – a founding signatory of the Clean Energy Council’s Approved Retailer Code of Conduct – are important to Hudson Ridge.

“These relationships mean we can offer our clients industry leading technology such as the Bradford Solar ChargePack, designed to reduce the carbon footprint – and energy bills – of a new home.”

“As one of our major suppliers, Dahlsens is also pivotal to our success. We value Dahlsens’ responsiveness, high level customer service and provision of sound, relevant industry information.”

What’s next?

The future looks bright for Hudson Ridge in Ballarat and on the Bellarine Peninsula, according to Darren.

“The key to a stunning display home is to create something that people can instantly connect with. Much of the positive reception we received for the ‘Everest’ reflected that the property felt very welcoming, was well set out and people could imagine themselves living there.”

“Add to that a next level finish and you have what we believe to be a solid formula for a great display home.”

Hudson Ridge are set to test that theory with their latest display home now open at 2 Tremain Drive, Lucas.

In the end, for Darren, success is all about attitude.

“Building can be a challenging industry at times, but a positive attitude is an important foundation stone for growing a profitable business.”

We wish you continued success, Darren and team.
