CSR Gyprock celebrates 75 years of Australian made and owned plasterboard innovation

Australia’s plasterboard pioneer, CSR Gyprock, celebrates 75 years of innovation and performance as the country’s leading plasterboard manufacturer. Proudly Australian made, Gyprock has facilitated the builds of iconic Australian buildings such as The Sydney Opera House (built 1959), New Parliament House (1981–1987), Royal Randwick Racecourse (2013) and the Optus Stadium (2017), since its introduction of the first paper-faced plasterboard to market in 1947.

Today, Gyprock is still one of the most widely recognised brands in the country and produces a range of highly trusted and certified plaster solutions for the building and construction industries, including plasterboard, pre-mixed and dry compounds, as well as a vast DIY range and supporting design solutions for Australian homeowners.

With a commitment to new technology development, CSR Gyprock continues its strong tradition of evolving its product range to meet the needs of the ever-changing construction and building industry.

“2022 is a very special year for CSR Gyprock and marks a time of reflection as we look back on many years of achievements in the Australian building industry,” says Renee McGinty, General Manager of Marketing.

We are 75 years old and have stood side by side with our customers for generations

It’s this established history and leading industry reputation that showcase the importance of CSR Gyprock in many iconic Australian buildings. “Our longstanding history in the industry shows the importance placed on the relationships we have cultivated with our customers,” says Renee. “The Gyprock name has come to be associated with professionalism, performance and reliability and we stand by these values.”

As one of Australia’s oldest building brands, generations of Australians give testimony to the trust which is implicated in the Gyprock name, and remain faithful to the manufacturer today.

“Gyprock is one of Australia’s iconic brands. We are 75 years old and have stood side by side with our customers for generations. Although many things have changed in our society, Gyprock is a constant source of reliability, quality and innovation,” says Renee.

Dahlsens congratulates CSR Gyprock on its 75th year, an amazing milestone and a testament to the quality they provide in both product and support.
