We value experience and are proud that many of our staff members have been with us for decades. Our customers can be confident they have an experienced hand looking after them and know our team has the experience and knowledge to look after the unique needs of the professional builder.
Our experts include branch and assistant branch managers, supervisors, trade counter sales staff, goods inwards, drivers, regional managers, area operations managers, account managers, estimators, yard, production assistants, administration clerks and buyers.
This fantastic team is guided by a leadership group who lead by example to meet and exceed the long-standing Dahlsens culture of customer excellence. The family-owned and operated business is led by fifth generation Dahlsens, who strongly believe in delivering excellence and adding value in everything they do.
John has 100% ownership of J C Dahlsen Pty Ltd. John works out of our Notting Hill, Melbourne Support Office, and benefits Dahlsens with his 50 years as a commercial lawyer and an MBA from the Melbourne Business School.
John has a strong passion for customer service and an acute business acumen gained from leadership roles such as Southern Cross Broadcasting Chairman and Co-Founder, Woolworths Chairman, ANZ Director and Melbourne Business School Chairman.

Geoff is a qualified lawyer with a MBA.
Son of John, Geoff began his employed tenure at Dahlsens in 2008. Since then, Geoff has worked to transform the Dahlsens group into one of the country's largest independent and leading suppliers of building materials in Victoria, Southern NSW, metropolitan Sydney, north Queensland, the Northern Territory and in Darwin and Broome.
Geoff oversees the management of the J C Dahlsen Pty Ltd group including Dahlsens, Cairns Hardware and Nortruss. Geoff is also a Director of buying groups Natbuild and Plumbing Plus.
Jamie is qualified in mechanical engineering. Son of former Managing Director, Bill Dahlsen (brother of John Dahlsen), Jamie has been instrumental in strengthening Dahlsens' trade service capacity during his recent six-year long tenure as General Manager, Dahlsens Building Centres.
Prior roles in the business include the management of store development of a large number of Dahlsens stores, as well as truss and frame operations and a Directorship role in the Dahlsens family property trust.
Today, Jamie's focus is on advancing the national group's lead in manufacturing and digital technology, ensuring Dahlsens is well-positioned to satisfy the ever-changing needs of the customer.
Mark joined Dahlsens in April 2019, bringing a wealth of industry experience and drive to enhance Dahlsens' unique ability to provide a consistent and reliable logistics service to trade customers. Mark has the full responsibility for managing the manufacturing and store operations; Merchandise; Sales and Marketing; Finance; HR and OH&S departments for Dahlsens Building Centres.
Mark knows family business having worked in his own family plumbing business for ten years at the beginning of his working career. Mark also worked on the factory floor in a Benalla based Frame and Truss Plant before moving into the role of Detailer and then Plant Manager. Before life at Dahlsens, Mark's most recent role was as National Trade Operations Manager at a large corporate hardware retailer.
